Lib Dem Councillors Oppose Pay Rise

Liberal Democrat Councillors have voted against a pay rise agreed by the Tory majority on North Hertfordshire County Council.
Our council group voted against the increase, which was carried by the votes of the Tory group who run the council.

Labour Lashes Out at Coalition

Labour leaders preferred to go into opposition rather than even talking about working with other parties.

Once again Labour has put old politics before the needs of the people.

Hugh Annand said, “It’s really sad that Labour chose to desert the people that voted for them.

“It was clear that people voted for politicians to work together ranther than squabble.

“But Labour made it clear that they wanted to go into opposition. They wouldn’t work with anyone. No wonder so many people turned their back on Labour in the election.”

Hugh Annand Says Thank You

Hugh Annand says, “I would like to thank you all for the warm welcome that you gave me and the Liberal Democrat team during the Campaign.

“While I increased the Liberal Democrat vote, sadly it wasn’t enough to win the seat.

“I am pleased that Liberal Democrat policies on investment in education, moving towards a fairer tax allowance of £10,000, reform of the bankng system and change in the political system are going to happen.

“Above all we have a government that is committeedd to sorting out the economy and reducing the massive deficit inherited from Labour.

“Locally the Liberal Democrats remain the main opposition on the District and County Councils.”
